Some terrible news out of Portland late on Monday night. Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic suffered a gruesome leg injury during the second overtime period of Portland's tilt with the Brooklyn Nets. The injury seemingly came out of nowhere, as the Blazers' star landed and appears to have snapped his leg. WARNING: THIS VIDEO IS HORRIFYING:

Nurkic comes down from an attempted rebound, and when he lands on his leg, it immediately bends the wrong way.

His leg was swiftly placed into an air cast by the Trail Blazers medical staff and he was popped onto a stretcher. He was carted off the court with just over two minutes left in double overtime.

The players on the court were visibly shaken up from the scene, and Nurkic was stretchered off the court with a towel draped over his head.

Nurkic had put in a massive workload in Monday's game, logging 34 minutes of court time, compared to his season average of 27.3 minutes per game. He was having an outstanding night as well, leading the Blazers with 32 points and 16 rebounds at the time of injury.

We're wishing Nurkic well and hope that the 24-year-old has a relatively speedy recovery from what appears to be a monstrous and ghastly obstacle.
