Devastating news coming out of Atlanta today.

The Georgia Tech athletic department has announced that Brandon Adams, a defensive lineman for the Yellow Jackets' football team, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday. No details have been released on the cause of death. Adams was 21.

Just tragic news for the college football community. Our deepest prayers and condolences go out to Georgia Tech and Adams' family.

Adams was a rising senior for Georgia Tech, having played 33 games so far in his college career. The defensive lineman had his most productive season in 2018, logging 24 total tackles, five tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles in 12 appearances.

New Georgia Tech head coach Geoff Collins also released a statement:

"Our entire Georgia Tech football family is heartbroken by the news of Brandon's passing. In the short time that I have had the privilege and honor of knowing Brandon, I admired and respected him, first and foremost as a terrific human being, but also as an outstanding teammate and leader," he said.

The passing of Adams is absolutely heartbreaking. Let's hope that the Georgia Tech community to come together to mourn the loss of a fantastic young man and spent the 2019 season celebrating his life.
