Jameis Winston is hoping for a big 2019 season after battling for the starting role in Tampa Bay with Ryan Fitzpatrick last year.

One way he's going to achieve his big campaign is through his physical size. Winston wants to physically be bigger in 2019 and he's been building up mass during the offseason. According to the quarterback himself, Winston currently weighs 250-pounds, up from the 231-pounds he was listed at in 2018.

"I'm getting it. I'm going to play bigger this year," Winston said at Bruce Arians' golf tournament. "Im about 250. Yeah. A solid 250. It's just about hydration and being at peak body, too."

At his current weight, Winston seems more like a tight end than a quarterback, but he seems to be confident in his body ahead of a critical season.

Winston is not under contract beyond the 2019 season so hopefully 'playing bigger' works out for him. If he has a strong season, the former No. 1 overall pick can solidify himself as the Buccaneers quarterback of the future.

The 25-year-old hurler tossed 19 touchdown passes to 14 interceptions, throwing for 2,992 yards last season. The pressure is mounting for Winston as through his first four seasons in the league he's only managed to lead Tampa Bay to a 21-33 record as a starting quarterback.
