Fairleigh Dickinson does it! The Knights overcame a halftime deficit to defeat the Prairie View A&M Panthers 82-76 to advance to the Round of 64 in the NCAA Tournament.
The Panthers dominated the Knights in the first half of the game, walking into halftime with a 41-34 lead. Everything looked to be going Prairie View A&M's way, but FDU woke up in the second half and kept the foot on the gas pedal.
Forward Darnell Edge led the way for the Knights, scoring a team-high 33 points on 9-of-13 from the field. Guard Jahlil Jenkins had a strong performance as well, posting 22 points and 6 assists.
Panthers guard Gary Blackston's performance was all for naught, as his 27 points and 6 rebounds were just not enough for Prairie View A&M to advance.
It was a historic night for the Knights after securing their first ever NCAA Tournament win in school history.
While the Knights celebrate their official spot in the NCAA Tournament, they will have to prepare for the No. 1 seed Gonzaga Bulldogs in the West Region on Thursday night. But make no mistake about it, Fairleigh Dickinson will have an upset on their minds with the hopes of advancing to the Round of 32.
If UMBC could do it, why not FDU?!
