After trading Ryan Tannehill to the Tennessee Titans, there's a gaping hole at the quarterback position for the Miami Dolphins.

According to Jason La Canfora, Colin Kaepernick is interested in signing with the team. Will they pick up the phone and call him?

Kaepernick, who has not played in an NFL game since the 2016 season, has reportedly been "training hard."

Anything would be better than what the Fins currently have on the depth chart right now.

He wouldn't, however, be much of an upgrade over Tannehill. In his most recent season, Kaepernick averaged 186.6 yards per game, a hair higher than Tannehill's 2018 mark of 179.9, and a 90.7 passer rating to Tannehill's 92.7.

The quarterback-turned-activist settled his collusion case against the NFL a month ago and now seems determined to make a return. Some have suggested he make a quick stop in the AAF or the XFL to prove himself.

He's proven that he has what it takes to win. He didn't just magically make his way to the Super Bowl in 2012. All that's left is for a team like the Miami Dolphins to make a move and grab him.
