The entire college basketball world held its collective breath when Zion Williamson went down just 36 seconds into a game vs. North Carolina on Feb. 20 and injured his knee due to a sneaker malfunction. The shoe that Williamson was wearing, the Nike PG 2.5, literally blew open and resulted in a sprained knee for the star forward.

But on Thursday, Williamson will make his return to the court for the ACC tournament. He has decided to once again lace up his Nikes for the Blue Devils, but will be switching out models for the game.

The sneakers Williamson will throw down with are the Nike Kyrie 5s, as Duke faces off against Syracuse at 9:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Everybody watching from Durham will be keeping a close eye on the freshman sensation, and for good reason. He did not have to return to Duke, with his status as a top pick in the draft already long solidified. Risking further injury is not something to be taken lightly when handling a talent of this caliber.

Since he's back, provided he can remain in his shoes, The Blue Devils look to be a very imposing threat to win the national championship once again. Winning the ACC first can take them one step closer.
