New England Patriots fans have every right to continue celebrating their Super Bowl LIII title for the next few months. It's been earned. But a stressful subplot has re-emerged amid all the merry buzz around Boston-- the uncertain NFL future of superstar tight end Rob Gronkowski.

As of now, Gronk has not yet committed to playing football next season. And even his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, claims not to know what he is going to do.

That's not going to help Pats fans rest easy.

For what it's worth, Gronkowski isn't coming off the best of seasons. Despite starting 13 regular season games, he only caught 47 balls for 682 yards. His three receiving touchdowns were tied for the lowest single-season mark of his career, and his 14.4 yards per catch were fourth-fewest of his career.

Still, there's no scarier one-on-one matchup in football. If Gronk really doesn't end up wearing a Patriots uniform this season, things just won't feel the same.
