We all know that the college recruiting process is an incredibly shady and corrupt business.

The latest news related to the illicit dealings of college head coaches involves LSU's head basketball coach Will Wade discussing a potential "offer" for Javonte Smart with Christian Dawkins back in 2017.

Wade's comments on the situation were short and to the point.

"I haven't read it. I don't have any comment on that. ... We'll move forward as we need to."

Dawkins received a six-month prison sentence earlier this week for having a hand in college basketball's pay-to-play issues.

Wade had previously denied any wrongdoing or involvement with Dawkins, but an FBI wire-tap of a phone conversation between him and Dawkins is what spawned the current situation.

During the call, Wade can be heard complaining about the offer made to Smart.

"I was thinking last night on this Smart thing. I'll be honest with you, I'm...tired of dealing with the thing...Like, this should not be that [expletive] complicated."

Smart has been an integral part of LSU's 25-5 season. They currently sit ahead of the Tennessee Volunteers in the SEC standings, thanks in part to Smart's 11.5 points per game.

It's just his second year as head coach of the Tigers, but the whole scandal has already tarnished his reputation with the team.
