2020 4-star quarterback prospect Carson Beck explained today that while he recently named the Florida Gators as his favorite school, his statement wasn't entirely truthful. It looks like his statement worked out because he ended up getting the offer from the Bulldogs he had been waiting for.
“I had obviously named Florida my leader,” Beck said. “I put that out there to say ‘hey, this is the team coming at me the hardest. This is the team where I can see myself at.'"
Beck played his cards just right, but Gators fans have got to be upset. You can't blame the kid for knowing how to work the system.

"I kind of had two schools at the back of my head, one of them being Georgia, where, if I got that offer, I would pause for a second and say ‘OK, hold on a second, I’ve got to pause and take this in,'" Beck said. "I took a visit up there (to Athens) and it was absolutely awesome and everything I expected.”
Beck ranks as the No. 3 overall pro-style quarterback in the 2020 class according to 247Sports' listings.
