Justin Fields might still be reppin' red but he has traded in his Georgia
As spring drills opened for @OhioStateFB this morning, transfer QB @justnfields Justin Fields appeared to be first in line to replace @dh_simba7 Haskins, followed by @matthewb_12 Baldwin and Chris Chugunov. https://t.co/NsREo6GrT5— Tim May (@TIM_MAYsports) March 6, 2019
Matthew Baldwin is also competing for the starting position as well, however is coming off of a knee surgery which could effect his mobility and durability on the field.
Any talk of Justin Fields and Matthew Baldwin in a tight battle for the #Buckeyes’ quarterback spot will seem silly after watching this morning. Fields was clearly the No. 1 with Baldwin as the No. 2. Things could change (they won’t) but that was obvious today.— Patrick Murphy (@_Pat_Murphy) March 6, 2019
“We felt like [Fields] was a great fit, so he’s done a nice job so far,” said head coach Ryan Day last month. “Not trying to do too much early, trying to gain some respect of the guys around him. Then he’s going to get into a competition this spring, see how it goes."
More answers surrounding to very new Ohio State team that will be debuting this fall will come about as the spring season unravels. Until then, he will have to wait and see.
