Justin Fields might still be reppin' red but he has traded in his Georgia Bulldog helmet for a shiny silver one as he starts up spring practices with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Fields will still be wearing No. 1 with the Buckeyes this season, the same number he rocked during his time at Georgia. Wednesday morning, Fields was seen taking reps at spring practice and it looked like he was the favorite to take over the coveted QB1 position, replacing Dwayne Haskins

Matthew Baldwin is also competing for the starting position as well, however is coming off of a knee surgery which could effect his mobility and durability on the field.

“We felt like [Fields] was a great fit, so he’s done a nice job so far,” said head coach Ryan Day last month. “Not trying to do too much early, trying to gain some respect of the guys around him. Then he’s going to get into a competition this spring, see how it goes."

More answers surrounding to very new Ohio State team that will be debuting this fall will come about as the spring season unravels. Until then, he will have to wait and see.
