The LeBron effect is in full force and we're not even a full year into his tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers.
LA's season has taken a turn for the worse and the team is now 4.5 games out of the playoff picture, seemingly throwing it all down the drain.
And now, after this year, they'll reportedly be looking for a new head coach.
Report: Lakers expected to fire Luke Walton after season https://t.co/HWDlBbu91B— Kurt Helin (@basketballtalk) March 4, 2019
Even Snoop Dogg said it!
But in all seriousness, whatever's been happening with the Lakers this year is downright unacceptable. They have the best all-around player in the game and plenty of supporting pieces to at least clinch a playoff spot in the West, but instead they've lost to the Suns, Pelicans, Grizzlies and Hawks in their last seven games.
And after the loss to an Anthony Davis-less Pelicans team, Walton's comments were seen as pretty wild given the circumstances. The head coach certainly needs to hold his team more accountable for their actions.
Blame the trade rumors. Blame the newfound intense spotlight. Either way, it's hard to put forth a campaign like this in a city of Los Angeles' magnitude and come out unscathed when it's all over.
