D.K. Metcalf has completely taken over the NFL Combine with absolutely insane numbers across the board. 6-3, 228 pounds, 27 reps on the bench press, 40.5" vertical, 4.33 40 time, 1.6 percent body fat. Absolute beast.

But amongst all those shell shocking stats, there was one event that Metcalf did not shine in: the 3 cone drill.

In fact, he posted a slower time that that of Tom Brady at 7.2 seconds, who is notoriously known for his subpar combine performance (and, you know, lack of need for such agility as a non-wide receiver).

The wide receiver out of Ole Miss is projected by many to be the first WR taken in the draft. His underwhelming 3 cone drill time at 7.38 should not affect him too much in terms of his draft stock, but it just comical to point out that while dominating in virtually every other aspect of the combine, he messed up on an agility trial to a monstrous level.

Metcalf suffered a neck injury in October of 2018 versus Arkansas. His bounce back from his injury has been substantial and beyond impressive. Considering he sat out the remainder of the 2018 season, Metcalf caught 39 passes for 646 yards and seven touchdowns in his only full season as a college starter in 2017. During the seven games that Metcalf did play for the Rebels in 2018, he racked up 26 catches for 569 yards.

D.K. Metcalf has definitely put in the work and it has shown at the combine. However, don't expect him to out-juke Tom Brady.
