After what was a wild week for college basketball the Associated Press has released the new AP Poll and there's a surprise team topping the rankings.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs were awarded the No. 1 seed after dominating Brigham Young in their last outing to improve to 27-2 on the season. A Blue Devils' loss to North Carolina saw Duke drop to No. 3 while Virginia jumped up to No. 2. The Tar Heels jumped up to No. 5.

Tennessee plummeted to No. 7 following their loss to LSU, while Michigan State's convincing win over Michigan bumped the Spartans up to No. 6 in the nation.

Another big riser was Kansas State which now sits in the No. 16 spot, just one behind their in-state rivals, Kansas, who they play tonight. Maryland also jumped up seven spots to No. 17, while Nevada dropped six positions to the No. 12 ranking.

Wofford has entered the Top 25 for the first time in school history, a monumental achievement for the South Carolina school.

Washington fills out the rankings at No. 25, the only Pac-12 team to be represented in the poll amid a disastrous season for the conference.
