New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was caught in a Palm Beach County-wide human trafficking and prostitution crackdown on Friday, and new details regarding just what was happening at the location in question are shocking.
According to Perry Russom of NBC10 in Boston, the sheriff in Martin County, Fla. told him there were no days off within the Orchids of Asia Day Spa's prostitution ring, and that hygiene was "minimal" at best. The women involved are understood to have been held there and put to work against their will.
Martin County Sheriff says the women involved in human trafficking ring were given no days off. They averaged about 1,500 men a year. He says their hygiene was “minimal” at best @NBC10Boston— Perry Russom NBC10 Boston (@PerryNBCBoston) February 22, 2019
The 77-year old Kraft
A spokesperson for Kraft released a statement shortly after news broke:
Statement from a spokesperson for Robert Kraft:— Mike Reiss (@MikeReiss) February 22, 2019
“We categorically deny that Mr. Kraft engaged in any illegal activity. Because it is a judicial matter, we will not be commenting further.”
One can only imagine the extent of the horrible conditions these women were forced to work under. At this rate, there's no guarantee that these will be the worst details to come out of this case. Police say that they have made over 200 arrests in the sex trafficking crackdown.
Kraft's wife, Myra, passed away in 2011. The Pats owner is currently unmarried, and has been dating 39-year-old actress Ricki Noel Lander since 2012.
