The rivalry between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers ins one that spans generations of players. The two storied franchises hate each other with an unholy passion.

So you can imagine how much it stings for Bears fans to not only see the nephew of team legend Dick Butkus work for the Packers, but for the all-time legend to actually support his nephew's new job.

Luke Butkus will spend the 2019 NFL season as an assistant offensive line coach under the new regime of Matt LaFleur in Green Bay. The legendary linebacker is "excited" for his nephew's new job with the Packers.

If you're a Bears fan, it's enough to make you sick to your stomach.

While the Packers have dominated the rivalry in recent years, the Bears are on the upswing under head coach Matt Nagy. They finished atop the NFC North for the first time since 2010.

The Packers, meanwhile, missed the playoffs for the second straight year and finished with a disappointing 6-9-1 record thanks to a slew of injuries

It's a cruel twist of fate for the Bears faithful, but Luke's hiring just etches another mark into the long and storied relationship between the two franchises.
