We've all been waiting for at least one of the star free agents to sign and we finally got it, as Manny Machado has agreed to a deal with the San Diego Padres, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

According to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, Machado has agreed to a 10-year deal worth $300 million.

This is the biggest free agent contract in the history of North American sports, and according to Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports, the mega deal includes an opt-out clause after the fifth year.

The other two teams that were linked to Machado were the Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Phillies.

Machado is one of the top young stars in the game, and he'll be joining a Padres team that is young and super talented. Whether he'll be playing shortstop or third base remains to be seen, but San Diego's expectations will be much higher in 2019.
