If you ask former NFL signal caller Chris Simms, Odell Beckham Jr. was close to being a New England Patriot last season. The Bleacher Report NFL analyst took to Pro Football Talk to report the New York Giants were close to trading the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver and the Pats were aggressively pursuing him.
The #Patriots were aggressively trying to trade for #Giants WR Odell Beckham @obj last season and he was close to be traded per @CSimmsQB on @ProFootballTalk— Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) February 18, 2019

Despite New England's eventual Super Bowl LIII win, many saw quarterback Tom Brady's 2018 as a "down year" after his MVP campaign the previous season.
Brady thew for over 4,000 yards and 29 touchdowns to 11 interceptions this past season, and many thought the downtick in his production could be attributed to his lack of weapons, which is why the team traded for Josh Gordon.
And just yesterday Odell Beckham @obj left this on Tom Brady's instagram— Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) February 18, 2019
Considering how productive he is with a QB like Eli Manning, Odell could explode with the best QB ever, Tom Brady. pic.twitter.com/lB3ySmJlCc
Beckham Jr. has been linked to the Pats of late, especially after his recent comment on Tom Brady's Instagram post in which he said, "Love u brother."
It seems like forever ago since Brady was tossing the ball up to a bonafide No. 1 receiver like Randy Moss. TB12 to OBJ? That'd be a scary sight.
