One of the most intriguing rivalries emerging in the MLB is between two AL powerhouses, as the Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros seem set to be contenders for the foreseeable future.

And they...do not like each other. More specifically, Alex Bregman hates them, and they hate Alex Bregman.

Our man got to work early, fanning the flames of the rivalry between the two sides. Bregman appeared as a guest on the podcast 'Going Deep with Chad & JT,' and he made a bold statement about the Red Sox.

"There's no other city that I would like to beat more than Boston," Bregman said.

That's a sure fire way to make yourself public enemy No. 1 in Boston, as well as a means to kickstarting the trash talk in what should be an exciting rivalry to watch throughout the year.

Both teams seem poised to return to the postseason this year, where there is a strong chance that they'll square off once again. Boston took down Houston in the ALCS in 2018, winning four of five games after dropping the initial contest at home.

Bregman has never been one to shy away from the spotlight or making a hot take on social media, and his latest comments will not go unnoticed by Red Sox fans.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a breakout 2018 season that saw him mash 31 home runs, drive in 105 RBI and slash for a line of .286/.394/.532. He placed fifth in the American League MVP race.
