Is this really happening? Is the South Side about to be the hottest place around? Well, if you're interested in reading way, way too far into what Manny Machado has been up to on social media, the answer is a resounding yes.

First, let's set the scene. Witness a pare of custom White Sox booties made for the young daughter of newly-acquired first baseman Yonder Alonso:

This kid doesn't even know what she's in for.

This all would have been nice enough on its own, but Machado -- who happens to be married to Alonso's sister, Yainee -- had to make it clear that he completely approved of this latest sartorial development.

Look, this doesn't mean anything for Manny's free agency in and of itself, but the White Sox have been known as a leading suitor for his services for quite some time now. Whether or not this is a signal worth overanalyzing is sort of irrelevant, as the MLB offseason has been so slow that we're naturally going to overanalyze it with aplomb, so do what you will.

After all, they sport Alonso's number. Alonso fully plays for the White Sox. This is not up for debate.

But in the meantime, know that Yonder and Co. are ready to leave no stone unturned in the quest to lure Manny once and for all.
