As if you needed confirmation from the pass-catcher himself, we can tell you that Julian Edelman knew he could not be stopped in Super Bowl LIII against the Rams. NFL's "Mic'd Up" during the Super Bowl showed that Edelman went over to Tom Brady on the bench during the game and literally told him "they can't cover me," and TB12 made sure to take advantage of that.
If Rams fans need a reminder, Edelman made 10 catches for 141 yards and was named Super Bowl MVP. Eight of the 10 catches were for first downs. The Rams' secondary could not contain Edelman whatsoever, as Brady repeatedly found him wide open over the middle almost at will.
Edelman is no stranger to big-time postseason performances. His most iconic moment will probably be his incredible fingertip double-clutch catch against the Falcons in Super Bowl 51. The miracle reception extended a two-minute fourth-quarter drive that eventually culminated in the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history and a fifth ring for Brady and the Pats.
Throughout Edelman's career, he continues to prove he plays at another level during the postseason. Some have even said that the veteran wideout deserves consideration for the Hall of Fame due to his spectacular playoff performances.
What makes it even cooler is that he knows he's unstoppable when the spotlight is on.
