THIS is how you ingratiate yourself to the New York faithful! It didn't take long for Dennis Smith Jr. to start making some good ol' Eastern Conference enemies after coming over to the Knicks from Dallas. Tonight in Detroit, the Notorious DSJ picked out Blake Griffin and decided to make an example out of him.

Hey, Blake, you shouldn't have been looking at him like that.

Smith can't play this one off as some kind of inadvertent collision, try as he might. But don't expect Blake Griffin to fret about this one too much, as his Pistons took care of business to score a convincing 120-103 win.

All told, however, the big winners tonight are presumably the Knicks fans awaiting Smith's return to Madison Square Garden. That type of unrelentingly fierce energy will take a man a long, long way in NBA Mecca.
