The Kansas City Chiefs just came off a very impressive season with Patrick Mahomes leading the way at quarterback. They reached the AFC Championship game and gave the juggernaut Patriots everything they could handle, and then some.
What the Chiefs should be doing now is preparing their team for the offseason, through the draft and the free agency market. Commenting on embattled RB Kareem Hunt shouldn't be on their to-do list. However, despite initially distancing themselves from Hunt, Kansas City isn't willing to abandon their former star RB.
Patrick Mahomes is still showing his support to the former Kansas City running back, hoping he finds work again soon.

Mahomes ought to stay away from a public endorsement like this of Hunt, who was abruptly dismissed by the Chiefs earlier this season for a physical altercation with a woman at a Cleveland hotel last February.
It's not a good look for the likely MVP to have this guy's back right now.
Commissioner Roger Goodell says the Kareem Hunt investigation should conclude “soon” and that he’ll go back on the exempt list whenever he signed, as he awaits likely suspension. ... on Reuben Foster, he said just because his charge was dropped doesn’t mean he won’t be suspended.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) January 30, 2019
The NFL still has an ongoing investigation, and therefore nothing can be done with Hunt at the moment. The NFL initially suspended Hunt indefinitely, and until they have the internal results of said investigation they cannot move forward.
As for the Chiefs QB, less is more.
