NBA insider Steve Kyler says the Lakers are not going to mess around now that they have the Pelicans listening.

“There is a belief that the Pelicans could have their choice of three of the Lakers’ young guys to make a Davis deal before next Thursday.”
Sources close to the situation are saying LA is prepared to make a monster offer for Davis that could include pretty much anyone not named LeBron James.

The only issue for Los Angeles is that they can't force New Orleans to take the deal, they can only make the offer as attractive as possible, which would likely include Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball, Ivica Zubac and possibly a first-round pick.
The Pels have been adamant that it's going to take something major, as they won't be looking to do the Lakers any favors for trying to take the best player in franchise history away from them.
