Celtics and basketball fans alike, it is officially time to accept a bitter reality: Gordon Hayward might never be the same again.

In fact, it's so apparent that as recently as Monday an anonymous Warriors player slighted Hayward's recent play, calling him a liability on both ends of the court, and even going as far as to say that Boston should try dealing the 28-year-old.

Fast forward 24 hours and Boston Globe writer Gary Washburn is reporting that a small number of Celtics fans are beginning to heckle Hayward each game at TD Garden, making it clear that they are growing anxious with his pro-longed return to All-Star form.

This begs the question: does Hayward deserve to be badgered by Boston fans after suffering such a gruesome injury?

The former All-Star has averaged just 10.6, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists upon his return and has only started in 16 of his 45 appearances this season.

We don't necessarily disagree with Celtics fans, but will the former Butler star ever be reborn?

Luckily for the Celtics and their fans, there is still a ways to go until the playoffs. Yet, Hayward looks nothing like the player he once was.
