When two of the best teams in basketball are meeting up for a Saturday night matchup, you know things are going to be good.

The No. 8 Kentucky Wildcats took on the No. 9 Kansas Jayhawks, and things were just as heated as you'd expect. Both teams came out blazing. But, while Kansas attempted to hold on throughout, Kentucky ended winning 71-63. A colossal win for the team who has only won nine games compared to Kansas' 22 during their rivalry.

After three straight losses to Kansas, Kentucky finally pulled through.

Kentucky's victory was powered by star players PJ Washington and Reid Travis. Washington led the way with 20 points, while Reid added 18.

Not to be forgotten, Keldon Johnson chipped in with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Though the deficit started to dwindle into double-digits within the last few minutes, Kansas managed to pull it back close with the effort of forward Dedric Lawson and guard Quentin Grimes.

But, though the score got closer and closer toward the end, the Wildcats bullied the Jayhawks into submission. Their physicality and teamwork was impossible to defend.

HUGE win for the Wildcats.
