The NFL is investigating an incident which occurred during the AFC Championship bout between the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs in which a green light, presumably from a laser pointer, was spotted on Tom Brady's upper body and face.
Our photographer, Turner Twyman, caught someone pointing what appears to be a laser pointer in Tom Brady's face last night. Play between the "muff" that wasn't and Sorensen int. @NFL, @Patriots and @Chiefs all told me they weren't aware of the incident. pic.twitter.com/ejWBQ6i64C— William Joy (@WilliamKMBC) January 21, 2019
While the outcome of the game was seemingly not impacted by the laser antics, the NFL is still looking to investigate the incident. Brady was unharmed but a laser pointer can cause damage to an individual if it is shined into their eyes.
Reports suggest that Brady was seen with the laser shining at him at least three times during the fourth quarter. A green beam was seen cast on to Brady's face just a play before he threw an interception to Chiefs' safety Daniel Sorensen.
The laser was initially identified by KMBC which shared the images on social media. The NFL aren't the only ones set to investigate the incident as the Kansas City police department will also be looking into it.
