The injury issues continue to pile up for the Los Angeles Lakers. While LA is hoping to get LeBron James back sometime next week, they now must deal with another ailing player in young point guard Lonzo Ball. The UCLA product went down with a non-contact leg injury and was carried to the locker room.

Ball couldn't put any weight on his leg, and was reportedly taken in a wheelchair for x-rays. Should Ball miss significant time, the role of Rajon Rondo would expand immensely. With Rondo also coming back from a finger injury, that's not exactly ideal.

The return of LBJ should steady the ship, but the emergence of Ball was one of the better stories for the Lakers this season. Despite the arrogance of his father, Lonzo has the talent and potential to be a starting-caliber point guard in the NBA for quite some time. Any sort of injury setback could impact that status, however.
For now, Lonzo is in our thoughts. We're hoping for the best.
