Even after his laughable Tennessee tenure, Butch "Champions of Life" Jones has managed to land on his feet at arguably the best program in the country.

After speculation that Jones would follow Maryland head coach Mike Locksley's lead and leave Nick Saban, Jones will reportedly remain on staff for the 2019 season.

Reportedly, Jones had been offered the associate head coach and tight ends coach positions at Maryland, where he would be among the more experienced members of Locksley's staff.

This comes after Alabama announced that former USC head coach and Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian would spurn Kliff Kingsbury and the Arizona Cardinals to return to Alabama as the offensive coordinator. Sarkisian served in that capacity for the 2017 National Championship game, which they lost to Clemson.

For as bad as Jones was at Tennessee, he isn't a dope who knows nothing about football. He turned programs like Central Michigan and Cincinnati into 10+ game winners. He's perfect as an assistant who can help out on game day.

Just don't let him run the show.
