Holly Holm is very much focused on her UFC 235 matchup with Aspen Ladd, but it hasn't stopped her from pondering a possible future fight with two-division champ Amanda Nunes.

Holm (12-4 MMA, 5-4 UFC), the former UFC bantamweight champion takes on Ladd (7-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in a pivotal 135-pound match at UFC 235 in March. The fight marks Holm's bantamweight return after a brief hiatus in the featherweight division.

Holm didn't specify what weight at which she wants to fight Nunes, but it will most likely be at 145 pounds after she stated that Cris Cyborg is still more deserving of a rematch first.

Holm isn't looking past her current opponent though. As she told MMAjunkie: “I’m never promised another day and another fight, so I need to make the most of what’s in front of me. I’m going to have this fight with Aspen Ladd and we’ll see what happens going forward."

“There’s always short goals and long goals. Yes, I would love to be able to fight with Nunes. It’s one of the things that could happen. I’m just 100 percent into Aspen Ladd right now.”

UFC 235 takes place March 2 in Las Vegas, with a fight between Jon "Bones" Jones and Anthony Smith expected to headline the event. And once that's all squared away, if fight fans are indeed one step closer to a tantalizing Holm-Nunes showdown, the world will probably feel like a slightly better place.
