The Toronto Maple Leafs have put together quite the impressive roster this season. However, it looks like they're not done trying to improve their player pool.

Hockey insider Pierre LeBrun has reported that the team's first-round pick is not off the table for trade offers.

With players like John Tavares,  Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and Morgan Reilly, the  Leafs are in prime position for a Cup run. Their performance so far this season has placed them second in the Atlantic Division.

For this reason, the Leafs are likely to try for an impactful deal before the deadline to solidify their roster.

Some players that are rumored to be trade options on top of the first-round pick availability are guys like  William Nylander and Jake Gardiner. Gardiner was recently booed on home ice after a 6-3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche and has been scrutinized on the blue line.

Many fans have been critical of the defensive effort by the Leafs. We expect Toronto to make some sort of change on the back end using their first-round pick to do so.
