The Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl repeat tour ended down in New Orleans, where the hangover proved to be too much. Now, there are numerous questions surrounding quarterback Nick Foles.

With Foles having a 2019 option in his contract, it's unknown if the Eagles will pick it up, considering the hefty $20 million price tag that comes along with it. He filled in admirably the past two seasons, but Carson Wentz gives them the best chance to win.

If you compare the statistics of both quarterbacks, Wentz leads Foles in almost every major category

The stats don't lie, sticking with Wentz is the easy choice for the Eagles.

Philadelphia gave up a boatload of draft picks in order to move up and select Wentz in the 2016 NFL Draft. Just last season, Wentz was on pace to become the league MVP, before going down with a torn ACL.

Foles doesn't necessarily impress in the early goings of a season. However, once it's playoff time, Foles goes to another level, with the prime example being his Super Bowl LII performance.

While the Eagles will forever be grateful for Foles bringing the franchise their first ever Lombardi Trophy, the writing is on the wall. Wentz is the franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future, and keeping Foles will be a detriment in terms of the salary cap.

It's in thei best interest to allow Foles to continue his NFL career elsewhere.
