Just as Jeremy Pruitt and co. were making strides with the addition of Georgia OC Jim Chaney to the coaching staff, they suffer a reported minor setback.

Two Tennessee Vols players, namely Eli Wolf and Drew Richmond, have entered the NCAA transfer portal database and could very well pursue other options outside of Knoxville.

Richmond represents a significant loss on the Vols offensive line, as he was expected to man one of the starting tackle spots next season. Wolf was likely the odd man out at tight end behind Dominick Wood-Anderson and Jackson Lowe.

The new transfer rules give players more flexibility in pursuing playing time, especially after a coaching change. While Pruitt will be a mainstay at Tennessee, the arrival of Chaney represents a new brand of offensive football--perhaps one which Richmond and Wolf don't see themselves a part of long-term.

The transfer portal does not guarantee a sure exit, as players have every right to explore their options and decide to return to school. It is a sign of unrest, however, with these two potential playmakers.
