The Arizona Cardinals have just made a hire, and are closing in on another, to bring plenty of experience to the coaching staff.
Joseph will return to his previous coaching responsibility of controlling the defense. Sarkisian will also assume previous responsibilities at OC, should he get hired. These decisions should provide a complementary philosophy to Kingsbury's new-look offensive style.
And on the day the Cardinals are landing former Broncos’ HC Vance Joseph as their defensive coordinator, the former Arizona HC Steve Wilks is visiting the Cleveland Browns to discuss their DC job, per source.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 11, 2019
Maybe in 2019 Joseph will be having the time of his life?
He will be taking over a highly underrated defense that features Chandler Jones and Patrick Peterson. Most importantly, the pressure will be off Joseph. Being in the spotlight in Denver proved to be challenging for him. He won 11 games in his two seasons with the team.
One the offensive side, Steve Sarkisian was closing in on the OC job with the Cardinals. https://t.co/6zoCiD7Njr— Chris Mortensen (@mortreport) January 11, 2019
Sarkisian, however, has his work cut out for him if he ends up in Arizona. He was unable to make things work in Atlanta with a loaded Falcons offense. This of course begs the question: What exactly is he going to do with Josh Rosen and the mediocre Cardinals O?
But, maybe Sarkisian and Kingsbury can put their offensive minds together and figure out a winning formula for the Cardinals.
