This may come as a shock to all diehard Carolina fans, but Theo Pinson's still the exact same glue guy he's always been at the next level with the Nets. Buy by golly, has he ever developed a jumper now. Check out the first half of Pinson's show-off performance Thursday night, which featured 30 points on 6-of-7 threes!
And yes, he did finish with an insanely efficient 43 points.
All in, Pinson (who's on a two-way contract with the Nets and has been back-and-forth in recent weeks) went 7-of-13 from long range and 17-of-29 overall, proving once and for all that he deserves rotation minutes for the hardest-working team in the NBA.
The Long Island Nets beat the Maine Red Claws 121-109. Nets two-way player Theo Pinson had a career-high 43 points and 5 assists on 17-29 from field, 7-13 from 3 and 2-3 from the FT line.— Ridiculous Upside (@RidicUpside) January 11, 2019
No, we're not sure how the jumper got to this level quite so quickly, but we're not mad about it. No one deserves success more than Pinson, and while we're forever grateful for his last-second heave to the rafters as time expired on Carolina's latest national title, we'll lend his joy to Brooklyn for a while. Only fair.
