The new year has only just begun and already we can tell that it's going to be a wild offseason for Ohio State's football program.
With starting quarterback Dwayne Haskins likely to declare for the NFL draft, many are expecting Georgia backup, and former 5-star recruit Justin Fields
However, Ohio State's current quarterback in waiting, Tate Martell, wants us all to know that the position battle is his to lose and that he thinks that Fields transferring to his team would be a mistake.

Martell had already expressed his confidence in winning the starting job next season, saying that Fields transferring to OSU would not scare him off.

If Fields does indeed decide to make the trip to Columbus, there is sure to be a quarterback battle for the ages, and new head coach Ryan Day will have his hands full in his first year at the helm.
As it stands right now, Martell looks to be the favorite to start for the scarlet and grey given Urban Meyer's past confidence in him, but Day is the coach now and there's no telling how different his system may be from his predecessor's.
Hopefully Fields does decide to make the move to Ohio State so we can watch all of this play out and see who comes out on top.
