The two biggest free agents on the market are Bryce Harper and Manny Machado, and while both remained unsigned, some insiders have consistently had the same predictions for quite some time now.
With the rumors linking Harper to the White Sox growing stronger and stronger, another MLB insider thinks that Manny Machado is going to sign with the so-called "evil empire", the New York Yankees, and it could happen fairly soon.
Heyman does not think Machado decides before end of the year, but he does think it’s the Yankees.— Eric Hubbs (@BarstoolHubbs) December 20, 2018
Jon Heyman appeared on WFAN on Thursday and speculated that Machado will choose the Yankees after the new year.
This frankly doesn't come as a surprise, as Machado and the Yankees have been playing a Sam and Diane-esque will-they-or-won't-they game of chicken since long before free agency even began.
That said, there are some other teams that fancy themselves in the hunt: namely, the Philadelphia Phillies and the aforementioned White Sox, who just traded for Machado's brother in law, Yonder Alonso.

So, as you can see, nothing is confirmed. But if you take the opinions of insiders with significant weight, then Machado to the Yankees can be expected to happen in January.
