This week could be big for the teams involved in the Manny Machado sweepstakes. Machado is scheduled to go meet with the Chicago White SoxPhiladelphia Phillies and New York Yankees this week.

Each team has shown different methods so far in attempting to woo Machado. The White Sox traded for his brother-in-law, Yonder Alonso, last week. The Phillies are prepared to throw as much money at him as possible in order sign him. However, the Yankees may have an advantage in that Machado reportedly wants to play for them.

Imagine a lineup with Machado, Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Gary Sanchez in the middle of the order. That would be a nightmare for any pitcher. It's imperative that Brian Cashman and the Yankees show a willingness to spend money if it means obtaining a player of as high a caliber as Machado.

With the Yankees now done rounding out their starting rotation, they'll have much more time to try to work out a deal with Machado. He may be the last piece needed to ensure the "Death Star" known as the Yankees is fully operational.
