Every MLB offseason, fans take to Twitter to give their hot-takes and predictions for their teams and the various players on the market.
This year, we've also got to deal with this guy, who may or may not be an insider
Chris Camello of something called @TheRebelMedia has provided one of those very takes that has the MLB Twitter-verse buzzing. Camello claims to have some insider information on Bryce Harper, the jewel and most in-demand player this offseason.
Regarding Bryce, my sources said there was an internal rumor within organization that #Dodgers have an agreement reached with Harper but it’s still not confirmed. I’m working to see what’s going on, but nothing confirmed or official yet— Chris Camello (@Chris_Camello) December 15, 2018
Bryce Harper is expected to sign a deal approaching $400 million, and many teams are believed to be in contention for Harper's signature. The Phillies, Dodgers, and White Sox all appear in, while Harper's camp waits around for expensive dark horses like the Yankees to make the move. But could an LA deal already be done?!
The reality is, no one is 100 percent sure where Harper will sign. If he does end up in LA, he will join a roster full of talent that will look to make a run back at the World Series next season. Joining a stacked batting order already with Yasiel Puig, Justin Turner, and Cody Bellinger, Harper would definitely provide the firepower needed to replace Manny Machado.
Rumors have also been surfacing that Harper is also similarly close to being a White Sox.
“The front runner right now, believe it or not, is the Chicago White Sox.”@JimBowdenGM tells @AdamSchein that it’s the White Sox who are in the lead for Bryce Harper's services. #T2S pic.twitter.com/XoXndaF0F2— CBS Sports Network (@CBSSportsNet) December 12, 2018
In his seven-year career for the Washington Nationals, Harper boasts an impressive career batting average of .279, along with 184 HRs and 521 RBI. During this past season, which some regarded as a slight slump, Harper still managed a 34 HR and 100 RBI season which featured a sixth selection to the MLB All-Star Game on his home turf.
There is no question of Harper's talent, and any team would be lucky to have him playing for their franchise. We will have to keep a close eye on his decision, which should come soon.
