For a team as great as the Chargers, they've been depleted in the backfield.
Los Angeles is expected to be playoff-bound as they continue their upstart season, but that doesn't take away the importance of their TNF matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Keeping up with Pat Mahomes and company was going to be hard enough, and that was before their last hope was officially ruled out.
Star running back Melvin Gordon is out one more week.
The Pro Bowler was expected to be back soon. Well, the clock has been ticking and we're getting a third week without Gordon for the Chargers.
Gordon was diagnosed with a sprained MCL and was deemed week-to-week following the injury suffered Week 12 against Arizona. The Chargers are now down to their third option as backup running back and receiving threat Austin Ekler is also out.
That means we're getting a ton of Justin Jackson time this evening.
Who is @Chargers RB Justin Jackson (@J_ManPrime21), you ask? I have (unbiased) answers.— Jeff Eisenband (@JeffEisenband) December 13, 2018

Jackson is going to have to step up in a big way as Kansas City is no easy feat.
