Green Bay Packers fans may be happy that Mike McCarthy is out of their lives, but the former head coach loved every second of his time there.

While the fanbase and ownership may be thinking of the consecutive losing seasons, they forgot about the numerous good times shared under McCarthy before he was let go. Those feelings will certainly come rushing back, as the head coach has one last goodbye to the place he called home for 13 years.

McCarthy took out a full-page ad in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Green Bay Press Gazette, and other regional papers to say thank you.

He may not have handled everything correctly with the Packers this season, but he sure did hit a home run with this goodbye.

“From the beginning, Green Bay has welcomed me with open arms. I met my beautiful wife Jessica here and raised our family of 5 children who will always call Green Bay home. Thank you for the immense outpouring of love our family received this week and throughout our time here. This speaks to the quality of folks in the State of Wisconsin. Coach Lombardi said it best. ‘Green Bay is all about Faith, Family and Football,'” McCarthy said through the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Fans weren't the only ones who received a proper goodbye from McCarthy, as he went back to Lambeau Field to deliver a goodbye speech to his players and staff.

It's a shame that his tenure that included 125 wins, multiple division titles and a Super Bowl title will be remembered for this past season, so hopefully, his goodbye sends him off on the right note with this fanbase.
