Boston Red Sox fans and starting pitcher David Price were both hyped to see the team re-sign Nathan Eovaldi to a four-year, $67 million deal.
In an Instagram post on Price's personal account, he made sure to not only congratulate Eovaldi on his new deal, but to throw a playful jab at him for his terrible Fortnite skills.
"Let's gooooooooo!! Don't know why he opened his mouth like that but whatever...you're still my guy!! @redsox well done!! #welcomebacknasty #stillascrubonfortnitefool," the caption read.
Come on, Dave. The man just got the payday of his life and that's how you do him? Some people take their Fortnite skills extremely seriously, and to bring Nasty Nate down like that is just plain wrong.
On a serious note, Eovaldi might be terrible when it comes to video games, but Price should be thankful for him. If Eovaldi hadn't been dealt to Boston in July, they may not have won the World Series.
During six postseason appearances, Eovaldi went 2-1 with a 1.61 ERA, whiffing 16 and only surrendering four earned runs in 22.1 innings pitched.
