Dallas Keuchel is one of the most sought-after starting pitchers available in free agency this offseason, and one NL powerhouse reportedly has him at the top of their wishlist.
The Braves don't necessarily need starting pitching, but they would like a veteran starter to help solidify big playoff games, especially on the road, such as the ones they lost to the Dodgers when they lost in four games in the NLDS last season.
Keuchel, 30, has spent his first seven seasons in the MLB with the Astros, winning both a World Series and a Cy Young award along the way. He somewhat struggled last season with a 3.74 ERA, but has had three seasons of sub-3.00 ERA over the past five seasons and has been successful in the playoffs against powerhouses such as the Yankees, Red Sox, and Indians.
If the Atlanta Braves are looking for a starter and the Chicago Cubs are looking for salary relief then what about Jon Lester? He lives in Georgia. And the Cubs could still trade for Syndergaard or Bumgarner who will both make less money than Lester.— Anthony Martinez (@Cog_itoErgoSum) November 29, 2018
