Hey, football fans. Don't forget. The XFL will be returning in 2020. You know? That football league owned by the WWE's Vince McMahon that had no rules and let players put nicknames on their jerseys? Yeah, that one.
There was a leak of the eight cities that will be homes to the XFL franchises, and Dallas (or around) will be one of them.
Don't Hate Me: The XFL is apparently coming to Dallas. Or thereabouts.— Evan Grant (@Evan_P_Grant) December 1, 2018
Why am I writing about this on championship Saturday. Because of the "thereabouts." https://t.co/VMJPFE7hnp
Congrats, Dallas. You guys are going to get a real sports team!
The other seven cities listed were Houston, Los Angeles, New York, St. Louis, Seattle, Tampa Bay and Washington DC. While most of these are obvious, the St. Louis one is the most baffling. Or genius? They're still licking their wounds after losing the Rams, so the next best bet? Bring on the XFL.
You'd think they'd reach for more cities without major teams. Louisville? Portland? Columbus?
Steve Clawson, an advertising and public relations executive with Moses Inc. in Phoenix, lists Louisville among markets he sees as viable for the XFL.https://t.co/UvvqddkshP— XFL TO LOUISVILLE (@XFL2Lou) November 30, 2018
The Texas Rangers are currently moving out of the Globe Life Park in Arlington. That would be the perfect spot for a team. That's a valid guess at where the XFL is heading.
