Bombshell level news has arrived out of Chicago. 

While rumors have been swirling surrounding JT Realmuto, it appears the Cubs have some interest. But don't they already have Willson Contreras behind the plate? 

Per a report, Chicago could actually be ready to "move on" from the young Venezuelan slugger in favor of Realmuto.

After a rough season in which they failed to make the postseason, the Cubs are looking to send a message to their National League competitors. Would this be what leads them back to the postseason and potentially back to the World Series? Perhaps, but moving on from a player that has been a key member of the team for the better part of the last three seasons isn't the best of ideas.

Theo Epstein couldn't have been satisfied with the way last season ended. Now, he'll look to do whatever is needed in order to get excitement back inside Wrigley Field. Then again, moving on from one good catcher to acquire another could be seen as a later move.
