Revis went on air with Evan Roberts on the WFAN radio show and criticized the team's preparation for their key Week 17 matchup against the Bills in 2015, making our worst fears a reality.
The Jets lost the game, and thus were eliminated from postseason contention, but Revis claimed that the team wasn't ready for the vital game. They finished the season with a 10-6 record and ended one game shy of a Wild Card berth.
Bad job by Revis here.— Brian Costello (@BrianCoz) November 20, 2018
1. He played terribly in that game. Watkins ate him up.
2. Bowles defended him through the entire 2016 season when he struggled. Bowles never said a bad thing about him and this is how he repays him? https://t.co/R4C3XVDlwE
The comments from Revis just fueled the fire surrounding the New York Jets right now, with many people currently calling for Bowles to be fired following a series of losses. It's worth noting, however, that Revis himself had an awful game in that Week 17 outing, as he was torched by former Bills WR Sammy Watkins for 11 receptions and 136 yards. Perhaps he's not the one to talk.
Or maybe he was somehow the most unprepared?
The team needs support from their former players more than ever, yet Revis decided to throw shade at the coach instead of coming to his defense. Bowles' days as the Jets head coach seem to be numbered, and the lack of support from his former players doesn't help his cause.
