Hm. Selecting quarterback Lamar Jackson in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft may not have been such a bad idea after all.
According to reports, Joe Flacco is currently being evaluated for a hip injury, which could call for surgery and sideline the starting quarterback for the time being.
Joe Flacco is dealing with a hip injury, seeking medical opinions. Could require surgery, or prolonged rest, or possibly he could play thru it (though that seems less likely). Ravens have been ramping up Lamar Jackson, anyway. Week 11 seeming more and more like natural transition— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) November 9, 2018
It's also possible that Flacco could play through the injury, but there is almost no need for the Ravens to let that happen. When you have what looks to be your franchise quarterback sitting in the wing, why rush a 33-year-old Flacco back onto the field?
Is it finally Lamar Jackson time?
nothing special but this is a sneak of what Lamar Jackson could be doing more of if he was the starter pic.twitter.com/T5altPnHSx— Derrik Klassen (@QBKlass) November 5, 2018
While it's exciting to see a young talent get his shot, it's also sad to see Flacco fall to the wayside. His tenure in Baltimore seems to be crumbling week by week.
