A good portion of MLB teams are in need of a catcher and J.T. Realmuto is hands down one of the best in the game and the best currently on the market.

What we do know about the long-time Marlins catcher is that he will be wearing a different jersey next season

Enter the Atlanta Braves, who have reportedly made a convincing offer to Miami for Realmuto and though the Marlins would like him out of the NL East, a trade between the clubs is looking probable.

This isn't Atlanta's first attempt to pry the 27-year-old from Miami. At the trade deadline this past July, the club's were in talks but the Marlins were asking for too much in return.

The Braves re-entered their names in the Realmuto sweepstakes earlier this offseason, and though they've got enough prospects to get a deal done, it must be noted that one insider is pumping the breaks on this morning's report:

In 2018, Realmuto slashed .277/.340/.484 in 531 plate appearances, so he is certainly worth the price of admission. The Atlanta Braves are poised to compete for another NL East title in 2019, and adding a star of his quality would only give them a terrific shot to do so even if their rivals splash the cash.
