It seems like every day a new MLB team emerges as a candidate to land the hottest free agent on the market, Bryce Harper.
According to a report from MLB insider Bob Nightengale, the St. Louis Cardinals have added themselves to the group of teams looking to get pen to paper with the All-Star slugger.
WOAH! The Cards ready to spend big? Looks like they want to get the bad taste of Dexter Fowler's deal out of their mouth and throw some more money to big-name free agents!
While St. Louis barely missed the playoffs this past season, they're definitely looking for a boost offensively, and Harper could be the guy to get the job done and further make the Cards a threat in the National League.
Harper in the middle of that lineup could certainly help the team break its three-year playoff drought.
Of course, this won't come without a hefty investment considering Harper reportedly declined a massive deal from the Nationals before becoming a free agent.
This would shake up the NL in a colossal way and teams like the Phillies, Yankees, Dodgers and Giants would be left dumbfounded.
