It looks like former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant may finally find a home for himself for the 2018 NFL season.
After a long wait, it's rumored that the Saints will be signing the veteran wideout for some offensive depth after working him out recently.
Rumor the #Saints are signing Dez Bryant. Working to confirm.— Benjamin Allbright (@AllbrightNFL) November 7, 2018
The two sides are reportedly working on a deal as of this writing.
Dez Bryant left New Orleans without a contract, but the #Saints liked what they saw and the sides are in negotiations on a deal, sources tell me, @SlaterNFL and @RapSheet. He’s been close before, so nothing’s done until it’s done, but all signs pointing that way.— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) November 7, 2018
It's been a long couple of months for Bryant, but it looks like he was correct when he publicly stated that he will be playing for a team this season.
Lucky for him, he may be on the verge of joining one of the most prolific offenses in the league that features a Hall-of-Fame quarterback in Drew Brees and various other receiving weapons.
His size and big-play ability could be exactly what head coach Sean Payton is looking for in a receiving corps that is thin behind Michael Thomas.
While it will take time to learn the offense for Bryant assuming he signs, fans could soon finally see if he is still capable of providing a presence in the league.
