Bryce Harper is clearly the cream of the crop of the MLB's 2018 free agency with the Cubs, Phillies, and Yankees rumored to be the three front-runners to land the superstar.

Earlier today, we heard that the Yankees were reportedly intrigued at the thought of Bryce Harper playing first base if he were to sign with the Bronx Bombers. No validity to that statement, but we certainly heard it.

Now, Harper's agent Scott Boras is defending his client, saying that the 26-year-old has the skills to adapt to playing the position.

From a personnel perspective, the idea makes sense for Brian Cashman, who has yet to determine if late-season pickup Luke Voit is a permanent replacement for Greg Bird.

Not to mention they have an outfield rotation of Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Hicks, Brett Gardner, Clint Frazier and...Jacoby Ellsbury, whenever he gets activated.

From a financial and strictly baseball perspective, however, this move is questionable at best for a guy who has never played first base and is demanding over $300 million

Either way, let's see how Yankee fans are taking this. Probably being reasonable and respecting Luke Voit.

Hmm.

Hmm...

Exacttly.

Harper originally was a catcher, so he's obviously nimble and we trust Boras' assessment, BUT the Yankees' fans are approaching farcical status with these latest rumors.
